Work with us

Do you believe that strong relationships, play-based learning and connection to nature create the foundation for meaningful early childhood education?

At Little Friends Treehouse, our philosophy guides not only how we work with children and families, but how we support and value our educators. We are a passionate, reflective team who believe children are capable, confident and curious learners, and that high-quality education begins with educators who feel respected, supported and inspired.

Our Way of Working

Quality relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We foster a workplace built on trust, collaboration and mutual respect, where educators’ voices are valued and professional judgement is supported. Just as we build strong partnerships with children and families, we prioritise positive, supportive relationships within our team.

Play-based learning underpins our daily practice. Educators at Little Friends Treehouse are encouraged to follow children’s interests, design meaningful learning experiences and allow learning to unfold through hands-on exploration. Guided by our belief Play, Learn, Discover Together, our team works collaboratively to create rich learning environments that reflect children’s strengths, ideas and curiosities.

Nature is a vital part of our learning context. Our educators embrace outdoor learning and use the natural environment as a powerful teaching tool. Daily engagement with nature supports children’s wellbeing, curiosity and problem-solving skills, while allowing educators the freedom to teach creatively and intentionally.

Our practice is informed by the 8 Ways of Learning, supporting educators to embed storytelling, learning through land, collaboration and non-linear thinking into everyday experiences. These approaches value diverse ways of knowing and learning and strengthen children’s connection to culture, community and place.

Supporting You as an Educator

We believe that when educators feel supported and valued, children thrive. At Little Friends Treehouse, we are committed to:

Partnerships and Community

We value strong partnerships with families and the wider community, and educators play a key role in building these connections. Family voices are respected and welcomed, creating a shared approach to learning and a strong sense of belonging for children and educators alike.
